LOCKING ADDRESSES!!!!!!!

Hey! So all the rewards have been produced, the zine, the cards, the pamphlet, the T-shirt. I'm express shipping (like DHL international super express) the Pamphlet today to the fulfillment partners. They'll get it in a couple of days.

Fulfillment will start very soon. I'll start packing this weekend and sending rewards to EU and other non US/UK/CA backers next week.

US, UK, CA backers will receive their T-shirts separately from the rest of the rewards (because remember I had them produced in a nice local print shop in Rome, Italy, and I ship them from France, I did a considerable amount of research to find the best packaging solution for the shirt to be sure they arrive intact and happy).

So, I'm locking the addresses now. You'll receive a message from Backerkit asking to triple check your shipping address, and modify it if necessary. You'll have 48 hours to modify your shipping address if necessary.

Excitement is high!

I can't wait for you to receive these beauties. And again I can't thank you enough for supporting and backing the project.

Fulfillment is nigh

Super dear Patrons,

Fulfillment is nigh,

and you should have received some time ago an email with the link to download your digital copy of Broken Luck, if you haven't please check your spam folder. The emails have been sent either by itch.io or DriveThruRPG depending on the option you picked during the Backerkit survey. And if you have any trouble with that process, just drop me an email [email protected]

If you have pledged at the Demi-God Love tier you should have received yesterday an email by me, with the codes to download the Broken Luck Soundtrack, Last Knight in Town, by Spookyrusty.

Physical fulfillment should start in a couple of weeks.

Yippyyy!

You have one week left to modify your delivery address if needed. Backerkit will send you a final notice email next Friday. After that, your final address will be locked, and sent to the fulfillment partners.

The T-shirts will be fulfilled separately, from France. They might arrive a little after the zines.

The zines look super good, and I'm super excited that they will reach you all soon. Here they are in a nice box:

 That's about it for today.

No, wait,

one last thing, you probably know that I run a podcast on TTRPGs. I'm preparing a special episode I call the Community Wishes episode, where I'll edit the thoughts and voices of members of the community. Something like this I'd be honored to add YOUR contributions, YOUR VOICE to this episode. I'd love to hear your voice dear backers. Just grab your phone and send me a voice message. Tell me what you wish, hope, fear, for our hobby, for your close ones, or for you, for this 2022 year that has just started. Send it via email at [email protected], DM on twitter, or via Anchor

Back to work now!

Until next time, stay safe and have a good Sunday

December Update - and happy Holidays!
over 2 years ago – Tue, Dec 28, 2021 at 05:30:01 AM

Hey friends!

I hope you are all well and safe in this kind of unsettling time.

Here is a quick update on the production status.

I expected to fulfil the book in late November/early December, obviously I’m late. And I’m so sorry about that. It’s mainly due to my lack of experience in budgeting time correctly for a print run upfront, and partly because of the supply chain disruption. What we can expect now, is a fulfilment in the second half of January. We’re almost there!

Here’s a quick recap of what has been done: in the last weeks:

I’ve decided at the last minute to do extra printing tests. I was mainly focussing my attention on the backgrounds of the illustrations, I wanted them to be perfect. Especially the beautiful gouache deep black backgrounds. I did a bunch of tests and color correction. That took me a couple of weeks. I’m super happy with the result now: Perplexing Ruins’ illustrations look gorgeous! I’m aware that I’ve had maybe too many tests and verification steps. But this is my first KS, and I just want to be sure to give you the best product possible.

Mixam US is experiencing some delays, because of supply problems. They have postponed the delivery. The zines should be shipped to the fulfilling partners in the first week of January.

Mixam UK has printed and shipped the zines! That covers the UK, and non North-American countries. The fulfilment partner for the UK, Rook’s Press, has already received the zines, and they tell me that they look great. I’m waiting for the rest of them (covering the rest of the World), they should be delivered before the end of the year.

The itch.io and DrivethruRPG pages for the digital fulfilment are ready. I’m waiting for DrivethruRPG to approve the page, approval is a manual process, to send you all the download keys (via itch.io and DrivethruRPG).

Again, I can’t thank you enough for having backed the zine. I’m so glad we can bring it to life in the best way possible.

I guess the next update will be about the download keys.

Until then, stay well, and happy December holidays!

Cards and Scissors and Glue and The Perpetual Broth
over 2 years ago – Fri, Nov 26, 2021 at 04:59:57 PM

Good morning/afternoon/night!

The A5 cards are printed, look at this beautiful pile, they have been 100% handcrafted by L.F. OSR, even the hundreds of rounded corners have been donne by hand.

Next step shipping them to the various fulfilment partners.

In the meantime the zine copies are being printed.

I'm in the last steps of organising the digital fulfilment, almost there.

Scissors and glue jam

I've run a little jam, The scissors and glue TTRPG jam, encouraging RPG creators do make a zine with IRL traditional techniques. It's been a lot of fun, and the zines submitted are super creative and surprising. Several of them use the zine itself as a game accessory, you have to actually do something with it in order to play, like rip it, fold it or scratch it. I'll share a mini youtube review of the submissions shortly, I'll send you the link as soon as it's ready.

I've made a little pop-up zine for the jam, in collaboration with Emiel Boven (who did the layout and wrote the story), and Bordercholly (who did the art),  I did the concept and the paper building. It's called The Perpetual Broth, and it's a one-shot MedFan adventure made for DURF (actually the zine was also made for the DURFjam) and it's easily adaptable to any OSR RPG.

It's kind of my first release, and until the end of the week I'm doing sales on both the printed and digital versions. You can snag them here in print and here in digital.

And btw, if you dig the project, let me know in the comments or via DM, I'll make more of these.

The Perpetual Broth

And here's the announcement tweet: https://twitter.com/thelostbay/status/1463501240348856327

That's it for today, going back to work.

I hope you have a nice weekend.

Until next time, stay well

Going to print!
over 2 years ago – Wed, Nov 17, 2021 at 04:51:12 PM

Hello!

So I've been a bit silent in the last month, sorry about that, lot of work on Broken Luck and other projects, plus I moved between two countries and that has been quite time consuming.

Anyways things are looking good, here's what's happening:

DIGITAL

Good news: I'll start sending shortly (next week) digital rewards to the backers. Yeees! The zine + the 2 Cards. They have been proof read multiple times, and they look good :) Still some work on the adventure pamphlet. It's going to be ready by the end of the month, but there is no need for you to wait, I'll send what's already finished and polished.

ZINE

I'm sending the zines to print this week, and they should be ready in a couple of weeks. I'll print them in 3 facilities: Mixam US, Mixam Canada, and Mixam UK (for UK, EU and rest of the world backers). Each Mixam facilities will send them to the fulfilment partners and fulfilment should start by the end of the month, maybe a little later, because as you probably know we are in a kind of a supply chain storm, and printing facilities can experience some delays. I'll keep you posted.

CARDS

I've sent the Oops! card, and the Faceless God card to print last week. They are being handcrafted by LF OSR, and I've just been told (literally now by chat) that the print run is being completed today! I have some fresh print tests here:

Oops! And Faceless God Cards

TSHIRT

I did a crazy number of tests (I did 4 saturation tests, with different levels of saturation applied on the drawing. I am preparing a little behind the scenes video on that) and I've found the perfect print shop, a local store in Italy (and they are called Straight to Hell, which is kind of funny considering the subject of the T-shirt). The shirt fabric is organic and of very good quality, and the print is super good!

-- -- -- --

So things are going well. The whole process is going to be slightly longer than planned and I'm very sorry about that. But just know that these extra delays are due to multiple steps to assure the quality of the final products!

I'll keep you updated as soon as the digital copies are available.

Until then

Stay well

Iko
